A publication, a community, and the production company behind the Shadow Summit.

We write about shadow work — the slow, ongoing practice of meeting what's been disowned, projected, or buried, and learning to live more honestly with what's actually there.

We host a Substack, run a small membership for people doing this work in community, and produce events that bring practitioners across modalities into the same room.

We follow the rhythm of the moon. We're serious about this work. We're not grim about it.

What Moonshadow is, in plain terms

🌙  The Substack

The publication. New moon and full moon essays, free to all. Deeper essays and prompts at the paid tier. The home for the writing.

🤝  The Membership

A small, sustained community of people doing shadow work on the lunar cycle. Twice-monthly live calls, writing prompts, the company of people who actually show up. Led by Ashley and KP. $30/month.

🎤  The Shadow Summit

A one-day virtual gathering of shadow work practitioners across modalities. Our first Summit happened in May 2026 with a keynote from Barry Michels. The next is in late summer 2026. Free for attendees.

✋  Working with us 1:1

Ashley Abubakar

Shadow Work Guide · Founder of Moonshadow

I came to this work the way most people do: by running out of other options. I had read the books, taken the courses, tried the things, and was still very much a person in trouble — until I found The Tools, the work of Phil Stutz and Barry Michels, and started doing the actual practice instead of reading more about it.

I have been at this for years now. I'm a shadow work coach. I'm the founder of Moonshadow. I work with people who are tired of doing their inner life by themselves and ready to do something about it.

What I'll bring: The mess, the grief, the moments you've tried to forget — bring it all. Nothing is too heavy. We turn toward what hurts not to fix it or erase it, but to find what's still intact underneath. I'll be direct with you. I won't perform serenity. I won't pretend to be your therapist (I'm not), and I won't pretend to be a guru (I'm not that either). I'll be a person doing this work with you, with both of us trusting that the work itself is the teacher.

Currently: Hosting the Moonshadow Membership · Producing the Shadow Summit · Taking new 1:1 clients from my wait list.

KP Kaszubowski

Hellenistic Astrologer · Jungian Parts Work Educator · MFA Poet

I read birth charts. I write poems. I make films. I teach people how to talk to the figures inside them.

I'm a Hellenistic astrologer (Whole Sign houses, Jungian lineage — not IFS), the creator of the Astro Parts Method, and an MFA poet whose debut collection is Elsebody. I co-host Parts & Charts, a podcast with licensed therapist Chelsea Owens. I teach writing at Lakeland University. My feature film RINGOLEVIO is on Amazon Prime; my novel Pink Flash is in querying. I treat the chart as a map of the psyche's inner figures, and I teach active imagination and creative writing as the primary tools for meeting them.

What I'll bring: The chart in front of you isn't a verdict — it's a doorway. We don't read your placements as fate. We listen to what your inner Moon, your Mars, your Saturn have been trying to say while you've been busy not listening. The work is associative, literary, and specific. It will not flatten you. It will not pretend the answers are simple. It will return you to the parts of yourself you have been writing around for years.

Currently: Co-leading the Moonshadow Membership · Running APM cohorts · Producing Parts & Charts Season 2 · Taking 1:1 astrology readings, Astro Parts Work sessions, and book doula clients on a small scale

The Shadow Summit

A one-day virtual gathering of shadow work practitioners across modalities — therapists, coaches, doctors, artists, writers, dreamworkers, somatic practitioners, astrologers — in the same room, sharing what they actually do.

The first Summit happened in May 2026 with a keynote from Barry Michels (psychotherapist, co-creator of The Tools, New York Times bestselling author of The Tools and Coming Alive) and a twelve-person lineup that crossed lineages we don't usually see in the same room.

The next Summit lands in late summer 2026. Sessions are 40 minutes. The event is free for attendees.
