The work beneath the surface.

A publication and a community for people who are done pretending the inside of their lives is fine.

We write about shadow work — the slow, ongoing practice of meeting what's been disowned, projected, or buried, and learning to live more honestly with what's actually there. We follow the rhythm of the moon. We're serious about this work. We're not grim about it.

🌙 The Substack — free essays on the new moon and full moon

Every new and full moon, Moonshadow shows up to ruin the vibe. Not because we're against ritual — we're not — but because the moon has never once cared about your intentions.

Twice a month, an essay shows up in your inbox: shadow work, depth psychology, the lunar cycle, and the literature of what we've been avoiding. Free, always.

For people who want more — deeper essays, integration prompts, the full archive — there's a $7/month tier.

🎤 The Shadow Summit

Twice a year, a one-day virtual gathering of shadow work practitioners across modalities — therapists, coaches, doctors, artists, writers, dreamworkers, somatic practitioners, astrologers — in the same room.

The first Summit happened in May 2026 with a keynote from Barry Michels (psychotherapist, co-creator of The Tools, NYT bestselling author). Fourteen-person lineup across lineages.

The next Summit lands in late summer 2026.

🎙️ The Cohort — develop your workshop in a real room

You've been circling it for months. Sketching, redrafting, talking it through with the same two friends. What's missing isn't the idea — it's the room.

The Moonshadow Emerging Leaders Cohort is three Saturdays in June where facilitators, coaches, and leaders develop the workshop they've been building, teach it to a small group of practitioners, and receive the kind of feedback that polite peer groups don't give.

The cohort culminates in each participant leading their workshop inside the Moonshadow Membership — marketing handled, audience ready — with clips of you teaching to share across your own channels.

Led by Ashley Abubakar. Application required.

Saturdays · June 6, 13, 20 · 10am–1pm PT
$495 · payment plans available · standalone offering

🏕️ The Retreat — a weekend of shared leadership, in person

You're already a leader. You've built something — a community, a practice, a body of work — and people look to you to hold the room.

What you don't get often: a weekend with peers where no one is performing leadership and everyone is sharing it. The Moonshadow Leaders Retreat is a small in-person weekend for facilitators, coaches, therapists, organizers, teachers, founders, and artists who hold leadership roles in their communities. No single person leads the whole weekend — instead, each of us steps forward in different ways, building on what we saw emerge at the Shadow Summit.

We're firming up dates, location, and price, and the people on this list will be the first to know — and will help shape what it becomes.

In person—Los Angeles this fall · Small group

turn toward it  🌒  turn toward it  🪶  turn toward it 🕯️

As you spiral through the darkness, I’ll meet you there. Nothing is too heavy or off limits—bring it all: the mess, the grief, the moments you’ve tried to forget. Together, we turn toward what hurts, not to fix or erase it, but to uncover what’s still whole beneath it.

honor the process   ✂️   honor the process 🍿   honor the process   🧱

I guide clients through astrology and parts work to reconnect with their inner wisdom. Together, we listen to the voices within, explore their stories, and uncover pathways toward harmony and creative wholeness.

The work is better in company.

You've been doing this alone for long enough.
